5.0.3.7

AR5 Users,

The latest update to AR5 is now live, bringing us to version 5.0.3.7. It includes some behind-the-scenes changes, as well as some solid quality-of-life updates that should help you be more effective and efficient as you work on your website. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

Under the Hood

We’ve done some refactoring in the codebase to make the AR5 application more scalable, more efficient, and more nimble. Among other things, this involves significant changes to the way that we handle caching, and we’ll be keeping an eye out in the near future for any unexpected side effects that may arise as a result.

For you, there’s only one change here to be aware of: instead of an admin menu in the AR5 primary nav, there’s now just the single admin link. Clicking the admin link will allow you to access all the things that you previously accessed by selecting your website from the admin menu, such as boilerplates, default SEO, and redirects.

Friendly Labels & Headings

We’ve expanded the automatic labeling features in AR5, making it easier to get around and to find what you’re looking for. Here’s a breakdown of the places where labeling has been improved:

  • When viewing a module’s details page, the type of module now appears in the page heading. For example, a heading that previously read “Module 252: Contact Us” would now read “Form 252: Contact Us.”
  • Form fields assigned to a form now have friendly labels on their title bars. You can give a field your own name, as always, by sharing it (it will then retain the name even if you unshare it), but if there is no name assigned to it, AR5 will supply a CMS label for a field using one of the following (in this order):
    • the field’s short label
    • the field’s label
    • the field’s placeholder
  • List items on a choose one field’s details page now have friendly labels on their title bars, in the following format: “Label [value] → email address.”

Preview for Shared Sections

The details page of a section now includes a preview of the section.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that prevented feeds from working until the feed options card was opened and saved.

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about this latest round of updates to AR5, and thank you for choosing Agency of Record.

Sincerely,
The AR Team
